If you are getting a specific error message, go to google.com and type in the exact error message and generally you will get sites to go to where help is available.
Thanks very much for your response, and for the suggestion.
Just now did as you suggested, but didn't really find anything relevant to the error box I'm getting.
Any other suggestions?
Can it have anything to do with perhaps the clock on my all-in-one printer not being in sync with the clock on my computer? That was never an issue with this printer when it was connected to my old system, but perhaps it is with my new 4600, or with XP.

Thanks for your help.
Disconnected the printer ... error box came back. Does that mean it is definitely not my printer that's causing the problem?
Another suggestion?
