installing windows server on optiplex 755

hi all,

i have a new machine, dell optiplex 755 and i am trying to install windows server on it.
as the installation started, an error message poped-up saying that a problem has occured and windows can not be installed.
i called the dell etch support, and they said that the optiplex 755 doesn't support windows server!!!
and i heard that from different technicians at dell.

what do you think the solution would be?!!
one guy suggested that i would install ATI catalyst driver!

waiting for some suggestions!

Thanks in advance,

Server 2003 can be installed on the Optiplex 755.  To install the Server OS you will need to create a driver disk that has the ICH9 SATA AHCI driver.  Be sure to hit "F6" at the point the OS installation disk is running for additional drivers.  It will look for a floppy disk to install from...so have a  3.5" floppy available with the driver.  Others may have an alternate way of tricking the OS to look for other media.  This will allow the OS to see the SATA drives...then continue with the installation as normal.
