Intel Application Accelerator problem
The following is a message I sent to Intel regarding trouble with getting their Application Accelerator to work with my system:
The system reboots after installing the Intel chipset software installation utility and detects the new hardware. I confirm the software utility installed ok by checking in the device manager as per the instructions in the Application Accelerator manual.
->After installing the Application Accelerator program I reboot the system when prompted to and after the Windows ME splash screen appears the screen goes blank with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner and there are not error messages displayed. I have to power the system down and then back on to get out of that blank screen. The system then boots into safe mode and starts a scan disk due to the improper shutdown and when I try to reboot from there I get the same blank screen so I turn the system off and on again and it boots back into safe mode. From safe mode I uninstall the Application Accelerator and then the system boots ok into Windows. I then re-installed the Intel chipset software untility program (which works fine) and left it alone until I can determine why the Application Accelrator program will not work with my system.
This is their reply:
Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.
You have indicated that you have an OEM version of an Intel(R) motherboard. Intel sells motherboards to various OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers), such as Dell*, who then integrate them with other system components (power supplies, disk drives, add in cards, software, etc.). These motherboards may be customized to the OEM's specifications. Please contact Dell* or your place of purchase for support, as they are familiar with the total configuration of your integrated system and the way all the features interact with each other. Intel is precluded from providing support for these systems.
Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? I installed the Application accelerator again and It will now boot into windows from a cold start but when I try a restart it hangs after the WIn ME plash screen.
