Internal Card Reader and Optiplex GX240

A friend recently gave me an internal card reader.. At the end of the cable the card reader has a connection which is not like other USB peripherals but it resembles the connection from the audio card into the cd player.. Where do i have to connect the card reader? the external USB ports? Is there a connection on the motherboard? Please help me...I'm a newbie with this stuff.. Greets from Italy

Dell motherboards do not provide a 4,8,9 pin usb header that you need for that device, Dell calls their proprietary interface for their special card readers "Flex Bay", so you will need to buy a PCI usb 2.0 card that has the pin header you need for that device.

Here is a nice article on all the different standard usb pin headers. They can be connected back-wards damaging the card, so study carefully.

Here is what to look for (white circled) when buying a PCI usb card. Not all cards have these.
