KERNEL32.dll ERRORs
I get this message sometimes when running KaZaa:
KAZAA caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff7b9a6.
Registers:

Other times when I try to install programs that I've downloaded, I get this little Error box that says "Could not load the DLL Library c:\Windows\System\Kerenl32.dll An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format." I click ok and everything that I was installing stops. HELP. I have re-installed Win 98 (while losing all of my Microsoft Office 2000 programs that are not replaceable because the CD was stolen) and it still isn't corrected. What am I doing wrong?

Go to the Microsoft site and put kernel32 into the search engine there. There is a patch that helps some but dosen't cure it totally.ood luck

This is just another example of the problems caused by Kaaza. Along with Kaaza comes a bunch of spyware that runs in the background, consumes system resources, interferes with other programs, and sends information out to someone (who knows who) about all of your internet sufring habits. Besides that, it opens your computer to all kinds of viruses and trojans. Do yourself a favor and get rid of Kaaza. Try KaazaLite or WinMX, neither of which comes with spyware. Then go to http://www.lavasoftusa.com and download, install and run Ad-aware to get rid of all that spyware. I can't guarentee that this will solve the kernel32.dll error, but it will go a long way to making your computer run better, safer, and cleaner.

If you do a clean boot and the problem then disappears, then you know that the problem was caused by something running from startup. If you are using Windows ME or 98, you can then use the system configuration utility (Start > Run and type msconfg) and using the startup tab start adding things back to the startup until you find what is causing the problem.

When I go to the Microsoft site and type in Kernel32.dll it gives me instructions on doing a clean boot. Should I try this or would it be pointless? I will be going to KazaaLite and Winmx as you suggested. I don't need that spy stuff clouding anything over here now!
thank you so much,
jen

Morpheus is just as bad as Kaaza when it comes to spyware. I can't speak for AOL, but I know it causes so many problems that I just don't deal with it at all.

So now the msconfig thing doesn't get rid of the kernel32.dll error. The only thing that I can do to make sure it doesn't pop up is not use programs that have made the error appear. I'm not very good with computers and I wish that Dell would just send a tech out here to fix it.
frustrated but thankful,

Dell won't send a technician out to fix a software problem, which is likely what you have. Are you saying that you are still getting an error even after having removed the check marks from everything on the startup tab in msconfig? What programs are causing an error in Kernel32.dll? If you post the exact text of the error messages (they shouldn't be Kaaza caused an error in Kernel 32.dll if you removed Kaaza), perhaps we can get to the bottom of this.

I have the same problem. But it doesn't appear when I start Kazaa. This Kernel32 Error popup comes sometimes when I start the Game Quake 3 Arena or i connect to a game-server.
So you are not alone with this prob
I'll try your suggests, thx

I am running win 98 and have the same problem. I have done a clean boot, and still get the error message.
Any comments appreciated.

Note that there are many things that can cause a kernel32.dll error. You have posted to thread that involved kaaza causing such an error. In order to help you, you need to post the exact text of the error message you are getting along with the version of Windows you are running.

jbenda,
Post the exact text of the error message. This is the only way we can attempt to figure out what's wrong without taking a a wild guess.
