Optplex 3030 Power button functions

When the unit is powered off and i press the power button, it lights up, runs the fans and i can hear the dvd drive run for a split second before it turns off again. In order for the computer to boot i must then press the power button a second time. Is this normal? If so what is the reason.

Good day!

Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.

If the power button lights up then it is certain that the system is receiving  power from the power supply unit but not sure if its is sufficient enough.

To resolve the issue do assist me by providing these troubleshooting steps,

1)A test button and LED are located at the back of the system next to the power supply connector, after pressing the button if the LED lights up then the power supply unit is working fine.

2)If the power supply unit is confirmed to be working fine then check and if the power button is steady orange or is it blinking before it turns off ,do u hear any beeps from the system.

3)If you have performed any troubleshooting steps do confirm the same .

So that I can look into the details of the system do send the service tag of the system via private message.Awaiting your reply.

Kindest Regards,
