S-Video

Can anyone tell me about s-video? Is there a PC card I need to buy?

I use an ATI Rage Pro 128 which has both input and output for S Video, this is basically a better quality feed than the analogue coax type connection. Check out the ATI web site for more up to date cards.

S Video is the analog input/output method used with Hi8 and SVHS analog video formats. If you want to transfer video from one of these formats to your computer, you will need a video capture card. ATI makes a few of these type of cards, ASUS and (I believe) Matrox does as well. To capture full-frame, full motion video to your computer, you will need a powerful processor(PIII600 at least), lots of RAM and HD space in addition to the capture card.
