System restore your PC back to a date before the updates to verify, or better still a date before the message appeared. This assumes, of course, that you can boot to desktop.
Try doing a Google search on the exact error message you are receiving and you will pull up a variety of web sites offering a fix to the problem. From the sites I just reviewed it would appear the error message is connected to Spyware on your system and it maybe just a coincidence the message appeared after the updates.
You won't lose any created files or data. The worst that can happen would be to reinstall any programs added since the restore date. We're not talking about formatting here.
bridge.dll is definitely the residue from spyware. Go to the following site and download HijackThis. Install it to its own folder on your hard drive. Run it and create a log, then open the log file, copy the contents to the Windows Clipboard, then go to the Virus Information and Removal Forum, create a new message and paste the log into the message. HijackThis is an analysis and removal tool, but you need one of the HijackThis experts in the Virus Information and Removal forum to look at the log and tell you which steps you need to perform.
You're sure that you went back to a date beyond the problem, right? Did the screen after reboot say that the restore had been successful or unsuccessful? (that's kinda important...)

Takes about 5 minutes and a reboot.
