USB 2.0

Question

I have a Dimension 8400... how do i find out if the USB's are 2.0 or 1.0.  I was talking to HP about my ipod, and they were trying to claim that I had a 1.0 usb port.   I don't think I do, but I don't know how to find out for sure.   Please help.

The 8400 has 2.0 ports.  However, make sure 2.0 (enhanced controller) is enabled.  Check the USB listings in the Windows Device Manager.  One of the lines should contain 'enhanced controller'. If it does, 2.0 is fully enabled.  If you don't have the enhanced controller statement you will need to enable it in the BIOS (setup).  I don't have an 8400 so I'm not sure how it's listed in the BIOS.
