Is anyone familiar with where I can find a usb 2.0 card for an optiplex gx150 small form factor case? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
A PCI USB 2.0 card is available pretty well anywhere but the small form-factor desktop system supports only one expansion slot for a low-profile, 32-bit, 33-MHz PCI card so you have to be sure to get a low profile card. They are not too expensive I got one for a GX400 about a year and a half ago for $30 CDN. I'm pretty sure that USB 2.0 is supported in the Optiplex GX270 and later
Thank you very much for the information. Would you happen to have the name of a company that would make a sff pci usb 2.0 card for the gx150? Unfortunately I've looked everywhere and have had little success. Thanks again.
Thank you very much for the assistance. Usually you post messages on these threads and no one ever responses. Then again, it wasn't a dell forum!!! One last question, if I may, the GX150 also has two usb ports in the front of the case, do i simply ignore these, as they are usb 1.1, or can i also upgrade those somehow?
Those are not really upgradeable. However for Mice or Flash Drives etc they are still useful. Mice dont need a 400meg connection so 12 megs is just fine. Webcams dont need usb 2.0 either another good use. And USB headphone/microphone, Usb Joysticks. There are even snakehead FANS that blow air nicely that you can plug into them for ligts or fans.

Dell carries the SIIG Low Profile card as does IBM and a few other vendors.
