XPS600 - two GPUs
Hi,
I have an XPS600 with a single nvidia geforce 7800GTX.
I am looking for another gpu to put into the computer to allow me to use 4 monitors.
If I wanted SLI, I know I'd need another 7800, but as I only need the extra GPU for the extra monitors, does it still have to be another 7800 or can it be a different model?
If it can be a different model, do both cards have to be nVidia or can I mix nvidia and ATI?
Thanks for any answers in advance!
Charlie

You could also look into a PCIe 1x solution( the XPS 600 has 1 PCIe 1x slot, but you may need to check if it's available on your system), but I haven't seen any Nvidia solutions for that.
Another option would be to look for PCIe 16x videocards that support more than 2 monitors. Matrox is a vendor that offers those type of cards. Those cards will likely be quite a bit more expensive than a 7900GS though.
