U will be able to run the games so dont worry.  I have a 2.8 400 fsb and I run all the new games i.e. Doom 3, The Sims 2, Call of Duty etc.  Just make sure ur P4 is at least 2.0 or higher.

Are you talking about the CPU speed, or the bus speed?

What model do you have, and what speed CPU?

Game software usually states the required minimum "Processor speed".

i think 800MHz is the min CPU speed but i think he got it confused with bus Speed

It's talking about CPU speed. I don't have a model, yet. I'm trying to buy a computer for school and our computer at home can't run the Sims 2. What's P4?

So if it says it requires an 800 MHz processor, why will it run otherwise? Is it just jerky and slow or does it not affect it that much?

Desktop computers have processors above 2 or even 3 ghz.  800mhz processors have not been in desktops for many years.  Any desktop that Dell sells has a processor that will far exceed your game's processor requirements.

So if I'm shopping for a computer and it says a model has a 400 MHz processor, what does that mean if they all come with faster-than-800 processors? Am I just reading it wrong? (Could very well be...)

Either you're reading it wrong, or someone is trying to sell you a computer that's like 5 years old.

i think you are getting confused with bus speed or FSB or Front Side Bus

It's very possible I am confused. I am very computer illiterate. I was on the Dell website searching for computers and if you look at the system specs, it says 400 or 800 MHz, but that's probably something else. What's bus?

Make your life easy.  Ignore the specs.  If you need an 800mhz computer, all computers sold by Dell meet those requirements.  If you want a desktop computer, buy a 5100 or 9100.
