82845 which is part of 845 I believe.

if you search intel.com it brings up the 845 page.

Would it be possible if you can give me the exact system chipset information ?? (ex. Intel 845GV)

Memory Modules must be installed in matched pairs unless the chipset has an option for mismatched the memory modules. 512MB per Slot. It will not work if you put a 1GB per slot cause you max memory is only 1 GB.

"Intel 845E"  for most Dimension 4500. The only thing I know is that.... the max microprocessor you can install is

Intel® Pentium® 4 microprocessor that runs at 1.60, 1.70, 1.80, 1.90, 2.00, 2.20, or 2.40 GHz internally and 400 MHz externally; and 2.26, 2.40, 2.53, 2.66, or 2.80 GHz internally and 533 MHz externally. Base on Dell Systems.

But the max memory is only 1GB. Maybe you have a missconception between the Microprocessor and the memory module ?

That is from INTEL, not Dell.  Regardless of Intel's Design capabilities, if the Dell BIOS on the board doesn't support more than 512 MB per slot, it will not support it.

The Dell D-4500 proprietary motherboard supports only 1GB of memory.

The only part that's Intel on Dell's proprietary motherboard, is the chipset and of cause, the processor.
