Highest Screen Resolution not displaying

Hi,

I am having a problem getting the comptuer to display the optimal screen resolution of  2560 x 1440 for my U2711 monitor.  I have 2 of the U2711 monitors both connected with Dual Link DVI cables into a DVI Splitter into an ATI Radeon HD 3400 series graphics card.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but I can only get a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and even that took a lot of updating and troubleshooting.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Liz

Are those displays 1080p capable?  According to the specs for that card it will do 2560X1600 if the display is 1080p.

I am pretty sure they are, but I'm not 100% sure.  is there anyway I can check to see if they are?

I'm not necessarily the most computer savvy, so any guidance would be great! :)

Can you remove the splitter and test one monitor on the video card to see if the maximum resolution of 2560x1440 DVI will work?

I will definitely try that and let you know, Chris.  Thank you!

Unfortunately, it might be a few days before I can because the system is at a different office :(
