System error Internal error 33400

Can anyone give me a clue as to why I get this error message?

I have Windows 98SE on my Dimension, I have 6Gb free on my C drive. I have 318MB of RAM.

It happens when running an older software, called "Starview". It doesn't appear any other time.

Dell Tech Support says it's a 'conflict error'.

The microsoft knowledgebase has nothing that is close.

Any clue or anything?

I'm running AND Complex 2.5E42 under Windows XP Pro SP3 with Merriam Websters Collegiate Dictionary (16 bit app) and it worked fine for a long time
until suddenly I got that internal error 33400 that really puzzled me. In another forum I found a useful hint that was the right clue for me.
I realized I had changed my default printer to a Brother MFC-... USB type, which I had not suspected to cause this problem, but it did.
Now I changed back to HP Laserjet IIID as default printer and the program works fine again.
For other users I suggest installing a dummy printer from the Win-XP included driver list using an HP Laserjet 4, 5L or 6P or similar and
setting it as the default printer. Many other older printer drivers and possibly some new ones will work too.
It just needs some testing to establish. Canon Bubble-Jet BJC-4300 works fine too.
Cheers, Nils
