Upgrade CPU
I have a XPS 8500 (Early 2012)
Manufacturer Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz
Clock Speed 3.1Ghz
L2 Cache Size 1024
I would like to upgrade the CPU, is this possible and what processors would I be able to upgrade to?
Thanks!

Note; Prior to installing the processor, check that you have the latest BIOS version A12 installed.

Kirk thanks for the recommendation. At the moment I am running at 3.10 gigahertz Intel Core i5-3350P with 8 gigs of mem. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-6.html says just about the same thing when it comes to the i5.

Do some research to see if you really want to do this. A higher speed i5 will give you very little real speed improvement. An i7 only adds 4 virtual cores, and most apps will not use all 4 real cores much less the virtual cores. Published speed tests do not use real applications. The i7 will cost a lot.
