Dell Command Update through Intune - Fatal Error during installation (0X80070643)
Hi,
I have not had issues before but looks like recently this has become a problem of updating through Intune as an application push. I packaged the application and tried pushing it and it fails on some machine and succeeds on some.
File Format:Update Package for MS Windows 32-Bit
File Name:Dell-Command-Endpoint-Configure-for-Microsoft-Intune_T88X8_WIN_1.2.0.76_A00.EXE
File Size:19.19 MB
Format Description:
Dell Update Packages (DUP) in Microsoft Windows 32bit format have been designed to run on Microsoft Windows 64bit Operating Systems. Dell Update Packages (DUP) in Microsoft Windows 64bit format will only run on Microsoft Windows 64bit Operating Systems. When selecting a device driver update be sure to select the one that is appropriate for your operating system.

We also have this problem on about 100/1000 devices in our org. Of the devices we have checked with the problem, we have found the Dell Client Management Service is disabled.
We suspect it is a bug with the software updater where it will disable the service on purpose as part of the update, then it will not reenable the service.
Looking forward to a Dell response on this.

Did you receive a resolution to this problem?
Might need a remediation script to kick the service back perhaps?

Has anyone been successful in connecting Dell Management Portal to Intune.
I am currently trying to publish the Dell Command Endpoint Configure for Microsoft Intune to a Dell Latitude 9520 device and getting the error within Intune Fatal error during installation (0x80070643).
I tried version 1.20.76 and 2.0.0.6 and both get the same error.
Are you able to offer any advise ?

I find DCEC installs fine on new devices. My gut feeling is a previous version of a Dell tool may be causing the issue but not dug any deeper. Maybe scripting the removal of existing Dell tools before reinstalling may be a workaround but haven't had time to test yet.

Quick Update
I have recreated the Microsoft .NET Framework and installed v8.4.424.52308 as a dependency with Dell Command | Endpoint Configure for Microsoft Intune v2.0.0.6 and the application has now installed.
Initially I tried installing .NET Framework v9.0.101 as a dependency. Whilst the .NET Framework did install fine, the Dell Command | Endpoint Configure for Microsoft Intune did not like this version of .NET to install.

@Shaun Smith Was it Microsoft .NET Core Desktop Runtime 8 you installed? Mine are still failing.

Hi @RobFuller ,
No. This is what I installed and downloaded from -
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/sdk-8.0.404-windows-x64-installer
I packaged this into IntuneWIN and targeted my devices and made it a dependency with Dell Command | Endpoint Configure for Microsoft Intune v2.0.0.6
