Dell Command Update Application Error

We're getting the same message on multiple systems when using the Dell Command Update:  "Warning: A problem occurred while checking for updates.  The operation was aborted.  See the activity log for the specific failure details."  When checking the log it's always the same application error: GUI-UVM15 Load of update catalog data failed.

We need this fixed as soon as possible please.

Also as an FYI - The initial message saying there is an error has the word "Occurred" spelled wrong! (see attachment.)

Optiplex 3010

Dell Command Update v2.2 - works normally

Dell Command Update v2.3 - works normally

I was having issues a couple of days ago with v2.3. So it looks like something must have been fixed on Dell's end? Can anyone else confirm?

I can verify that the Dell Command Update v2.1.0 works normally with the various Optiplex 790, 7010, 30XX and Latitude E6XX Models that we have.

I have not tried v2.2 or v2.3

Thanks.

It appears this problem is happening again. We got new Latitude E5270 systems and I cannot use Dell Command Update to update any of them to the latest updates.

When is Dell going to fix this and resolve these issues once and for all?

I can verify that v2.3.1 is now Failing on the Latitude E6440 models.

When is Dell going to fix these problems once for all? These issues have been going back since 2015.

this is happening for the first time for us.  I tested it on four different models and all had the same error messages...it was working last night...

Same here.  Tested on Latitude 7480 & Optiplex 3050, both have failed to update with a RETRY prompt since early this morning.  The activity log just says, "Application Error"

I'm having the same issue on multiple machines here. Activity Log reports:

GUI-UVM15
Load of update catalog data failed

I just spoke with a dell pro support agent about this exact problem. Your computers' as well as mine, were issued a faulty bios update to address the spectre and meltdown vulnerabilities, but Intel has gave Dell new guidance on how to fix these issues by deploying new bios updates, the most current bios updates were causing multiple different PC's to have stability and boot loop problems. So, Dell has removed the latest BIOS update. Assuming you are running the latest version of the command update software, It is looking for the updated BIOS which is not there, hence why it keeps failing. They are currently working to get this fixed. I have provided a link so you can see if your computers were affected. http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln308587/microprocessor-side-channel-vulnerabilities-cve-2017-5715-cve-2017-5753-cve-2017-5754-impact-on-dell-products?lang=en

Hope this helps you! - Matthew T

Same here, DCU v2.3.1 -

Application Error - GUI-UVM15

Been imaging Latitude 3189s (about 166 of them to be exact)

Suddenly not able to update via DCU, have been able to do this for the last couple weeks.

Tried also a E5470 and same issue.

Tried to manually download the catalog.cab and imported the catalog.xml to see if that would bypass the issue, I get "Warning: Application Currently Does Not Support Your Model" with my Latitue 3189s.
