Same recommended updates keep appearing

Hi all - Dell Client System Update keep showing the same recommended updates as available even after they have been installed and the laptop rebooted. Why is this?

Thanks
Glenn

Has it rescanned the system?

Yes - after installation and rebooting, clicked on "Check For Dell Updates" again, waited a while, and got the same thing - 5 recommended updates. They don't seem to be detected as having been installed. Any ideas?

OK. I'm checking with the dev team.

Thumpernut,

Can you tell me which updates are not being detected as installed? The dev team is aware of a few that are not being detected properly and would like to verify that you are not seeing something different.

Thanks,

Warren

Thanks Warren,

The laptop is a Dell E5520. The recommended updates that keep re-appearing in the Dell Client System Update tool are:
- O2MICRO OZ600XXX MEMORY CARD 2011/03/31
- INTEL INTEL(R) WIFI LINK 6300 2011/03/15
- BROADCOM 57XX GIGABIT CONTROLLER 2011/03/14
- DELL MULTI-TOUCH TOUCHPAD 2010/09/20
- Broadcom 57XX Gigabit Integrated Controller 2009/10/19

Regards
Glenn

Here's my log file for the past week from the client utility:

I'm getting the same issue on Optiplex 980 (Windows 7 64bit Professional).

The three for me were:
1: Critical: Intel AMT HECI (R267389)
2: Recommended: Dell client system update v 1.2.1 (was on 1.2.0)
3: Optional: Realtek ALC269 HD Audio (R252390)

Through the client utility I downloaded all three and rebooted as prompted. Having logged back in again they all still appeared.
I manually downloaded each via the link icon in the client utility and installed all three manually and rebooted. The newer Dell Client System update was the only
of the thee to actually apply.

So the issue is more serious than the Client System Utility - in particular the critical listed chipset driver update will not install at all even by itself.
I've applied the Realtek driver by going into device manager and selecting the card and browsing to c:\dell\drivers\R252390 and installing the appropriate driver from there. But that's still not ideal
as I assume some other interface/software things should apply with that package other than just the raw driver itself - not sure.

thanks,

Graham

The issues provided in this thread are being worked by the dev team and an update is planned for release as early as late next week.

Where are we at with this?

I have just run the Dell Client System Update tool and there's no change:
- O2MICRO OZ600XXX MEMORY CARD 2011/03/31
- INTEL INTEL(R) WIFI LINK 6300 2011/03/15
- BROADCOM 57XX GIGABIT CONTROLLER 2011/03/14
- DELL MULTI-TOUCH TOUCHPAD 2010/09/20
- Broadcom 57XX Gigabit Integrated Controller 2009/10/19

There's another issue too - the Dell Client System Update tool does not pick up thath the ST Micro Freefall Sensor software should be installed. Windows 7 shows this as an Unknown Device. I manually installed off the web site to fix this, but I need to roll this out across the company, so the Dell Client System Update tool working would help automate this.

When are these issues going to be fixed?

Thanks

Same here!

No improvements, manual install doesn't fix it.

- Broadcomm 57xx gigabit controller
- 02micro 0z600xxx memory card
- Intel unified 7 management interface driver

any progress?
