I have the same request, Users should be able to attach some of the text file or piece of code.

It is useful if dctm forums enable users to attach piece of code , they can limit on size of the attachment though..

It is not good see code along with the post messages which include all the expression symbols..

If you use the code block identifiers, I find code samples look nice.

This is in a code block. :)

Where I would find an attachment potentially useful is for a screen shot.

Code block is fine for small snippets of code. However, sometimes people like to post entire procedures and attachments would be better in this situation. The only thing I would like to add is that if attachment feature is added to the forum, some sort of virus scanning should be included as well.

VERY GOOD point there - the Virus Scan needs to be performed BEFORE the attachment is retrievalbe by other forum users!

And, you're right - also pasting large sections of logs - an attachment can be easier to work with... With a hundred+ lines, it's easy to see that an attachment is better... With 25-50 it's a harder call.

I'm sorry I didn't reply to this thread earlier. It slipped by me. We do have this logged as a feature request.
