Custom plugin in DTS

Has anybody maganed to write a custom .dll for DTS 5.3 SP2? I tried to use the same .dll for rendering Adobe Illustrator files as I did for CRS 5.2.5 SP3, where it was working ok, but it freezes at the point of opening the illustrator file. I configured DTS as it is written in " DTS Administration Guide" (Handling legacy custom OLE plug-ins)
