Event on 30-MAR-07 makes sorting by Date useless

Question

I'm sure many of you have run into this situation: you search Powerlink for Support Solutions, and most of them have a modification date of '30-MAR-07'. There are so many of them, that I'm sure this is the result of some (automated?) process that executed a mass update on that date. The result is that, when I'm trying to pick out which items to read out of a potential list of thousands, this is one less criteria that is available to me, to help me make that decision. Was that mass update really necessary? If yes, why? Just curious.
