Filing a bug on powerlink about powerlink

I just had a nice conversation with Jay(powerlink mgr) about powerlink. I tried to file a problem on powerlink about powerlink and how a lot of the software packages do not have the latest version listed that a bug could be filed on. This has cost me several day of debugging time as the support tech's say I need to be a specific release level and I then have to reply that I am already at that release level. How about if powerlink was treated as any other software product that EMC has because it is. Just because I haven't had to pay for it does not mean that it is not a product that is not supported by EMC. This forum while useful does not allow a customer a comfort factor to know that their problem with powerlink is being paid attention to. And please do not mention sending an email to support@emc.com because at times that becomes a block hole for responses. What I am suggesting is that on powerlink I be able to file a problem/enhancement on the powerlink tool. This provide accountability and satisfaction to the users of powerlink that their specific thing is being addressed. It will also allow Jay and the rest of the staff to have provided for them a place where statistics on problems and requests can be accounted for without the current superhuman effort that the existing methods require. I am requesting a way to make this all better for everyone of us.

Dear Bob,

I have submitted the request to get the software versions updated last week (right after our call). They should be added shortly.

In regards to our other conversation, I have started working with our support team to upgrade our processes along with finding a way to select Powerlink and its tools as product. I do not have a timetable for you yet, but the wheels have been put in motion.

Regards

Jay

Hello Jay,

What's the latest news on the effort to allow us to submit a Service Request against Powerlink?

I tried to do it today and went through all the different Software product categories, but could not find it listed.

Thanks,
JPG.

Jose, I know this isn't directly answering your question but are you still having the experience of any missing responses when sending to Support@emc.com? I would like to know if you are because I can then look into the email history of the email response management system we're using to see if there's anything amiss.

Regards,
Dale
