Pending Upgrade
First, thanks in advance for your patience. Our imminent upgrade has had to be postponed again. We are having hardware issues with the server that need to be addressed before we can consider upgrading the application.
At this point we are hoping to be able to complete the upgrade around the 21st or 22nd. I'll keep you up to date as we approach that date.
Thanks again,
Erich

Recently almost every day the forum is down for some time. Is it part of the upgradation process or I am the only one seeing this.
Thanks

Thanks for clarifying. As a fellow developer I can understand the problems u r facing. Nothing to worry about from my side, as long as u are working for making it better.

these unplanned outages are directly related to the hardware issues that have forced us to postpone the upgrade.
We apologize for these, and are working aggressively to isolate and remove the cause. There will likely be another scheduled outage before the upgrade to accommodate any fixes required.
Thanks for the question,
Erich

thanks for the question.
Apart from the items we've listed in the Announcement (which include a new landing page, a "My Favorite Forums" area, Watch summaries, and combined thread views within a Category) the changes you will see will be minor at first.
- Announcements: these will appear as non-Forum content, in their own portlet
- WYSIWYG Editor: text can be more easily formatted
- New icons
Some features the upgrade provides will not appear immediately, as we must test them. These include Polling, RSS support, hierarchical or tree thread views, virus-scanning attachments and Avatars.
I hope this gives you a taste of what's coming.
Thanks again,
Erich
