that's a good suggestion. We do post our guidelines on the Powerlink launch page for Forums, but many users would miss that.

We can either post a link to that page, or copy the text. I'll work with Julie and the rest of the team to get this in place.

Of course it's all there in the Help file as well, but I guess no one ever goes there so a sticky thread will be better.

One list I'm in posts out a monthly reminder email about the community rules, how would this be?

Perhaps that would work, but having sticky bit seems to better because:
a) offloads you from posting message across the board
b) your post would be thread itself meaning it would escape from top position in fairly busy forums

With sticky thread users now see two sources of information: one during post itself and second during thread browsing in each forum.

I was thinking an actual email message sent out; we could use it for other important messages as well. Since only the really interested members of the forums visit the forum of forums.

I'll have to wait until Erich can tell me if sticky threads are possible. We have announcements is that what you're meaning?

Yes, I guess announcement threads are sticky ones. Not sure for email... let's see what others think on that subject too.

I definitely prefer the idea of Sticky Threads.
