separate login for Forum

What is the idea behind logging in to support site and then to forum?

Can you provide separate url for forum?

Sometimes my support login expires, but my forum page doesn't. Since i've logged in to forum through support site, expiration should apply to both the pages right?

Am i missing something here?

You can directly login to Forums via
http://support.documentum.com/support/forum/dmSupportForum.asp

However, you'll get a session key both for Support site and Forums :-)

I'm not sure about the 3 hour time limit, but it does. I guess it is less than 3 hours.

Also since we open the forum(a new window) from support site, it should hold the same timeout.

is this sounds reasonable?

So that our users wouldn't have to log in to both the Support Web Site and the Forums we put the forums behind the support login.

Though you will still need to login to the support website, we will work on making that access a little easier if you put in a url to the forums.

As far as the timeout goes, there should be a 3 hour time out on both sites; however, if you are active in the forums but not on the support site for those three hours you will be timed out on support, which you won't see the effects of until you go back to the support site. I have this on my to do list of things to fix as well.

I try to go directly to the forums sometimes, but (correctly) get redirected to the support login... My problem is that it doesn't then send me back to the Forums. It should.

You are correct. I have logged this to get it fixed.
