Syntax for using Open Replicator for Sym
We have purchased Open Replicator for Symmetrix. I've added the lic. key and such.
I need to migrate data from one sym to another (Testing right now with a single lun). I'm creating the txt file as described in the documentation, but I am getting a few different errors.
1. When I put the full SymID and WWN I get this error.
The same Symmetrix ID cannot be used in the source and target devices
Here is the content of my txt file.
symdev=000190103762:061 wwn=60060480000190103762533030303631 symdev=000187430985:0ca wwn=6006048000018743098553594D303441
Please note this is all on one line, seperated only with a space.
061 is a hyper and 0ca is a 2 member meta.
If anyone has a file I could look at to compare with, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

I use Open Rep for dozens of migrations and your format is what I always use. Note, however, that a dmx, whether control or remote device, must be discovered by symcli before you can use the "symdev=" format. If both symmids do not appear in "symcfg list", then you'll have to use the "wwn=" format for the sym that's not visible to symcli.
