Thanks Steve,

I gave you full points as a thank for persistent attitude... I know how "annoying" it is to get the message "will be ok soon "
;-)

Me too,

Once again today a couple of entries were marked as unread although nothing new in them... and my machines are running XP Pro and Win2000Pro, both are having the same issue..

if I log in from home on my old 98 machine it's still the same. I think it's an application problem rather than a browser problem.

Forum Support,

I just got another one!

http://forums.documentum.com/jive3/thread.jspa?threadID=1704&tstart=0

There are no posts marked unread for me in this thread, but the thread is shown with a diagonal blue slash, so the forum shows unread.

I know that I can make this go away by posting a reply, but luckily this is not a forum that I use often, so I will leave it like this in case you wish to investigate the problem further.

Now this really ****** me off, all those topics I have commented or created showed unread marks !!!
I really hope that someone comes up with a solution for this issue as this really makes the browsing of these topics too time consuming...

Kari,
as many other community members, I also expirienced problems with topic's read/unread marks. But I solved this problem for me simply by setting "Watch Forum" options for those forums that I read and participate in. Then, I receive all new postings and replies to such topics via e-mail. I not missed nothing from discussions that are interesting for me.

Good idea Albert.

But then you are reliant upon more incomming e-mail, with answers that are out of context and difficult to follow.

I like to keep the watch to watch specific questions where the answer is of direct interest and do not want that swamped with other e-mail from the forum.

The best solution really is for Documentum to get the Forum fixed.

Steve,
I use incoming e-mail from forums only as forum's activity sign but I'm not permamemtly monitoring forums only via e-mail. When I receive mail I take decision should I go to forums site or no.
Of course, I haven't set "Watch Forums" on majority of forums - I did this (on forum level) only for three forums that are most interesting for me now: "eRoom", "eRoom API" and "WDK". Also I'm watching for threads on other forums that was initiated by myself (but this done automatically by system). And - last but not least - I'm monitoring postings of particular community members - yours, Kari's, two Dan's...
Periodically, I directly look through other forums and if I find something interesting on it I switch watching on. If incoming messages from forum become prevailing mail in my inbox, I switch off some forums. In more active periods I receive about 30-40 mails from forum. This is not annoying me very much because real spam that goes daily to my inbox can exceed 50-70 messages.
But basically I agree with you - Forum engine should be fixed.

The problem with unread marks returning should now be fixed with the maintenance we performed last night.

Sorry Di,

No help. The unread marks just keep bouncing back from the old and definately read messages...
------------------
For example these topics keep coming unread:
