Error Message - Compact flash card I/O error due to device timeout
Hi,
I was updating the SAN firmware and I have received numerous emails with this error message: Compact flash card I/O error due to device timeout.
Can someone please tell me what's wrong?
Thank you.

EQL, can you 100% confirm that error is not somehow related to 6.0.4? Just asking because in all the years and that many arrays i never ever saw something like that.
Also, could it be that the flash card is simply not inserted cleanly? But then again - i guess if that was the case, the upgrade certainly would have never finished for good.

Yes, this also happened to us last summer.
Unfortunately there were too many errors to recover so the firmware update failed halfway through the upgrade. I suspect a firmware update could be the only major activity the secondary controllers flash sees all year.

This occurred on both of our PS6000XV arrays. Currently waiting for the parts to fix them.
