win 2012 setup

Question

Hi,

I would like to connect a DL4300 win 2012 server to a decommissioned PS4210. I am setting up a N4032 switch with two vlans, lan and iscsi. Could someone help me with configuring the server and equallogic for management access and storage operation.

Hello,

When you first configure the EQL array the Discovery and Management will be the same IP address.

There are a number of Videos on YouTube to help you with basic Equallogic functions and features.

You can configure out-of-band Management as well. The last port on the 4210 is for this optional Dedicated Management feature.

The online help has information on it. There are a few threads here on setting it up at the CLI.

The equallogic still has the basic setup from its operational days. I have management access. I will try to connect the storage volume to the win2012 server with iscsi initiator, there are many help documents that I can follow for the setup. Please let me know if this is the correct method for connection or is there a best practice that you can suggest.
