BIOS
just copied the system image and burnt recovery DVD on my Inspiron 3881 however if I should ever need to enter BIOS settings to alter the boot sequence I do not know how to get into BIOS on my PC and the online solutions offered do not work such as when pressing F2 or Del the the PC just continues to boot up normally. I May need this information if a normal boot fails at any time.
Any help would be much appreciated

As soon as you boot the system start tapping F2. The BIOS screen will display shortly after that and when it does you can stop tapping.

@stevesalp Make sure you test that the DVD boots the PC before you need it.

Many thanks for your advice and could you please run through the process for checking the correct operation of the rescue disk . Does the disk need to be loaded prior to 'power on F2' or once the bios page is open and once in the Bios what is the process from then on.

You need to put the bootable DVD in the drive, close the drawer, and power PC completely off.
Then power PC on and tap F12 to open the boot menu. Look for the option to boot from the optical drive on that menu. You don't want to change any boot options in BIOS setup.
