DBUTILDRV2- update

My computer is telling me that my PC needs to be restarted to finish setting up this device.  Every time I restart, I go to device manager and it says it is working properly.  The next time Dell Update runs, I get the same message that I need to restart to finish setting up.  As you can tell, my computer knowledge is limited and not really sure what to do.  I did look at properties for dbutildrv2 (2.7.0.0) and found events, and it stated the root\dellutils\0000 was deleted.  I can restart again, and everything will be good until the next dell update app runs.  Any ideas?

Not sure this has anything to do with it, but I need to update the chipset, intel graphic driver, and bios.  I probably should wait until I figure out the above problem first, right? (*Update- updated everything, but that didn't fix.  I still get a notice to restart after every dell update run.)

If you're facing the same problem, please try to update all drivers using SupportAssist as per the video below:

The original query was about where dbutildrv2 program came from but it has been changed since then.  The main issue could be resolved by a complete uninstall and reinstall of Dell Update app.

Other additional question with issue regarding chipset, graphics driver and BIOS update is somewhat having conflicting concern with Dell Update usage.  Either running installation manually or running it through Dell Update but not both.

In order to provide better suggestion/recommendation, I will need specific machine information, model, OS, etc...and description of issue.  Do not post any personal info on this public forum.

I have the same problem with a notification that I must restart to finish setup for DBUtilDrv2 Device.  I've done as many as 5 restarts and the notification always comes up after every restart.  I don't have Windows 11 because my machine does not support it.  Do I really need DBUtilDrv2 or can I just disable it in Device Manager?

My system info is:

@AF_O3 , old DBUtilDrv2.sys was known for security vulnerability in your system and Dell had issued a removal tool to remedy the issue.

You can download and run this utility to remove any remnant from the older version.  Then the new one may get to install/update properly.

It's up to users to decide if using Dell Update can be manageable or uninstalling it and allowing Windows updates to keep your system up-to-date.
