Dell Inspiring 3880
Inspiron 3880
Hello, I recently upgraded my Inspiron 3880 by adding a gtx 1650 and it is performing good and it's temperature is also good but I am facing high cpu temperatures while gaming, this was not the case before I added the GPU. However, when I performed cpu burn test it performed success. I also think my cpu usage has rised. What should I do to reduce my cpu temperatures.

A few things at play here. The new GPU is adding more heat to the case. And I assume that with the new GPU you are playing games with increased quality settings such as from low to high or Ultra and that puts more of a load on the CPU. Also though 86C is on the high side it is nowhere near the TDP of 100 or 105 (not knowing which CPU you have) of your CPU. You can try repasting the CPU with a good quality thermal paste such as Arctic MX-4 or better. You could also install a higher quality fan/heat-sink combination on the CPU.

What should i do? I can either replace the thermal paste or wait for 2 months and get a cooler. I think my i3-10100 can be effectively cooled by stock cooler and I checked and the thermal paste has dried up

you can try re-apply thermal paste after wiping clean Dell factory paste. Dell factory often applies way too thick layer of paste which is ineffective for cooling. apply a small drop less than a rice grain size of paste then mount the cooler in one clean sweep motion and tighten 4 screws in cross diagonal fashion.
