I have had desk top Inspiron 3471 for almost 2 years. I updated the drivers as recommended by the Dell support icon.(exactly as many times before). This time after downloading and installing the drivers a message appeared at the bottom of the screen saying that the bios was being updated. Next a new message appeared saying that the machine was being rebooted and not to power down. Next the desktop started up again but the screen remained blank and that is where I am now. I have tried the usual stuff switching off and back on but still the same blank screen. The on/off button on the tower has a white light- I think it was orange before I started this process so don't know if that gives a clue. Can anybody help?
