Inspiron 24 3475 AIO, no bootable device

I have an Inspiron 24 3475 AIO that has a "no bootable device" I have searched for a solution. None of the answers have the same wording or category as mine in the F12 or F2 menus so I get confused.

I have downloaded the tools on a flash drive but don't know how to get it onto my computer. I am able to get to-dos prompt but not sure if this will get me anywhere. I do get an option to change to windows volume 3 but it goes back to no bootable device

It is possible that either the HDD/SSD has failed or the MBR is corrupt or missing. This forum post should help and Philip Yip's instructions here is very good and step by step in it's detail.

Also you stated that you tried F12. Did you run a full diagnostic test and see any drive errors?

I would like to add I have run diagnostics and everything comes out with a green checkmark.  I also have tried to boot with legacy, and in safe mode

@MarSki Just to add to what @JOcean said, reboot and start tapping F2 to open BIOS setup. You can see the details for these screens in the Inspiron 3475 Service Manual.

Navigate to the Boot tab and you should be able to see these things there:

Select Boot Options Priorities using Tab, arrows and Enter keys. See what's listed there. And then do the same for Boot Option #1.

Your first boot option should be Windows 10 Boot Manager. If it's anything else, move Win 10 Boot Manager up to first position. Save the change and exit BIOS setup. PC should boot automatically -hopefully- without the error message now.

If you do not mind wiping the hdd, use the Microsoft Windows 10 download media to prepare a bootable usb, select legacy mode in bios, then boot from usb and get ready to do a fresh clean install of Windows 10.  If you can see a hdd or ssd listed, delete all existing partitions, then create (new partition), format, proceed to install.
If hdd or ssd failed, you will either see no drive listed to install os on, or run into error.

@MarSki  Are you sure this is an Inspiron 3475 All-In-One?  The table I posted is from the Inspiron 3475 AIO Service Manual. Did you use arrows and Tab key to navigate around? The mouse  doesn't work in BIOS setup.

Post images of the Boot Options BIOS screen...

Dell has used InsydeH20 BIOS on some PC models, but I only know what screens you're supposed to see from what's listed in the Service Manual.  So just navigate around looking for Boot options or Boot Order, or similar named option, and see what's listed.

Also, reboot and immediately start tapping F12. When the F12 menu opens, look for an option to run the diagnostics and run all of them, including RAM and drive tests. Copy error messages, if any, look them up here,  and post the error messages here too.

You can't reply via email to email alerts you get for new posts in this thread. You can only reply here in this thread on the forum.

If necessary, you can renew your warranty and have Dell fix the problem for you. Enter the Service Tag on the Support page and click the link for Warranty renewal at the top of the page to view the options and costs...

BTW: Never post your Service Tag in an open forum thread like this. Only share your personal info with Dell-Cares or with a specific Dell-  employee via Private Message through this forum.

@MarSki   - Here's an image of what your Boot settings screen in BIOS setup should look like:

You want to make sure HDD1 -Windows Boot Manager is first in the UEFI Boot: list. And you can delete or disable UEFI Onbard LAN IPv4 and ..IPv6 in that list...
