Inspiron 27" All-in-One HDMI Out Port
While the speakers installed in the PC are ok, maybe better than most, I still not all that happy with the sound. If I purchase a sound bar with and HDMI in port and connect it to my Inspiron HDMI out port, will the audio from the computer be sent to the sound bar via the HDMI port?

Almost certainly not -- you will need to use a separate audio cable to output sound from the system.

Actually stupid me. I forgot about the little button next to the power button that controls the HDMI signals. Pushing that button allowed audio from the HDMI out to the HDMI port on the speakers. However after going into video sleep mode I was unable to figure out how to get computer video back. I had to do a cold boot (pull the power cord) to get computer video back. Either I am doing something wrong or perhaps this is an issue.
