Video Card for Basic Computer

I have a Dell 660s computer. I just use it as a basic computer, email, web browsing etc.  Not interested in gaming for anything like that.  I have changed out the processor and installed 8 gigs of ram.  I ordered a SSD but haven't received it yet.  What i was wondering, is there any point in installing a video card?

I used to install cheap video cards on all my computers to free up memory, but I'm not sure if that is a factor on modern computers.  I can get a 2 gig, video card for about $15  so if it will help it i no problem, but in the past I installed similar cards on a couple of Optiplexes I used mostly for music and I really couldn't tell the difference on the one with 8 gigs of ram, I did notice a small difference on the one running Xp that was limited to 4 gigs..  I just wonder if it will make any difference for basic computing?

I'm currently using a Dell Precision T3600 for music and video.

Thanks,

Ben

In my experience, adding a video card won't make much of a difference unless you are gaming or doing other video intensive activities. For web browsing, watching videos, or playing music it won't make a noticeable difference. Only difference adding a video card will make is that it will free up a little bit of RAM which is reserved for your on-board graphics.  With 8 gig of RAM this may speed up your applications slightly if at all.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking.
