3D features in photoshop not working

m-sena_0-1594518155457.png

When I try to use the 3D features in photoshop they simply do not show up enabled.

I have checked the 'Device Manager' and it says that both Intel HD graphics 530 and the NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX are working properly. Also, under Intel HD graphics control panel I have changed everything to maximum performance. Under Global settings "application optimal mode" is enabled.

Is anyone able to shine a light on this problem? In all places I checked the graphic card seemed to be working properly. What else could it be?

Thank you so much for your help.

In order to answer, we need to know what model Inspiron you have - N5110, 5535, etc.

Photoshop isn't even detecting my GPU . @ejn63
the device manager says the graphic card is working  properly (intel and nvidia), they are up-to-date, my windows system is also up-to-date. cache and memory levels are appropriated. BUT I cannot use advanced setting because Photoshop isn't detecting the GPU, what could be the reason why that is the case?

Thanks for the reminder @ejn63

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 15 7559. Bought in October 2016.
Intel core i7, CPU 2.6GHz, and 8GB of RAM.

Do you have the system set to run Photoshop with the nVidia GPU (use the optimus control panel to select it)?

Or is it just the 3D aspects that aren't working?

That's how I have it set up. and, exactly, none of the 3D features are working. Could the GPU hardware be damaged or broken? I'm so confused.

Since the Adobe software mentiones the 965m as being compatible (and it's the "lowest" of those that is), you may want to check with Adobe -- your system may not meet their requirements for the 3D boost option to function.

The 965m, despite a similar nomenclature, is a generation newer than your 960.

@ejn63

here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html

it says:

If your cards is not listed above, but meets the following requirements, you can assume that it works with the latest version of Photoshop:

  • The card was released in the year 2014 or afterwards
  • It has the minimum amount of graphics processor VRAM required for Photoshop (512 MB). The recommended amount of VRAM is 2 GB or more, though.

My card has 4GB of display memory and was first installed in my machine in 2016, so it sounds like I should work. But you are probably right, because the system is obviously not working even after I changed all the setting from within NVIDIA control panel for Photoshop.

Thank you so much for your help!!
