This reply is obviously too late to help you but perhaps it will help others in the future. I also updated the BIOS from version A01 to A12 and it blue screened on me the same issue. However, I'm not convinced the BIOS is the issue. The BIOS reflects that it was updated to A12. I reinstalled Windows 10 2004 and it loads fine. The problem is when you connect it to the internet Windows will start looking for drivers and software updates. It installs some driver that doesn't sit well with the computer and it blue screens.

That driver is the Intel Trusted Execution Engine - TXE_Win_64_2.0.5.3117.zip

Best to keep the laptop disconnected from the internet. Using a different computer, download the appropriate drivers from the dell website to a USB flash drive. Install your drivers using the USB stick. The TXE driver (the most important one right now) doesn't like to install properly. (If it did you wouldn't be having this issue.) So follow the directions in this link to install that driver.

Before you connect the Inspiron 3147 to the internet for the first time you are going to want Device Manager to look clean. No missing drivers or drivers that aren't working.
