BIOS update stuck at 73% for 5 hours
Hello everyone,
I would appreciate help from anyone or the moderators if possible. I left my laptop on before eating . When I returned an automatic BIOS update had started and was at 73%. It's been 5 hours now and it's still stuck at 73%.
Anybody has any idea what can be done? I don't wanna brick my laptop by doing something dumb.

What is the exact model of your laptop? And I would leave it on for a while yet just to make sure that nothing else is updating. Also is your system still under warranty?

Expired warranty. Inspiron 5570.
I unplugged charger 2 hours back and it's dead. Charging it again now. Any advice?

@Iammon
Skip the IDEA of BiOS updates on an out of warranty unless you are facing an issue and bios update is the only fix.
1. Unplug the charger and hold the power button down for 30 seconds Plug the charger again and try powering it on
2. Disconnect the battery (open backpanel) and disconnect charger and hold the power button again for 30 seconds.
3. Try step 2 with CMOS battery removed
If either of the steps let you power on the machine, do not attempt BIOS update again.
If none of the steps work, try to power on the machine while holding Control + Escape.

Bios updates should never be run concurrently with updates from other programs, especially updates that require a restart.
I'd suggest you disable uefi capsule updates so that auto bios updates only come automatically though Dell, and then change settings for Dell from auto update to notify me when available.
