Hi,
Is it safe to keep the charger connected to the laptop and turned on while working? even when the battery is fully charged?

That's how I use mine in many instances. This web page addresses the question in more detail and also states that it will not hurt the battery or adapter. But I would occasionally, as the site states, unplug the adapter and run off battery for a short time.
