Computer Slowes down when unplugged

When I am plugged in, it works fine and it is really fast, but when unplugged it is really slow. For example, I am playing a game that pretty much any computer can run, but when I unplug mine, it slows down and even a potato could run that game. I don't understand why and I have already reset my BIOS.

Nevermind, I Nvidia's app automatically has a battery saver turned on that reduced fps and whatnot when you're not plugged in

Computers often have different power consumption modes. When you disconnect the charging cable, your laptop likely goes into a power saving mode. One of the things that this often does is actually throttle back the CPU to save energy. You can change this in your system setup at a loss of some battery life.
