Dell Bios problem and power management problem

<Moved out of Inspiron Laptops and into Latitude Laptops. DELL-Admin>

I have a Latitude 7490 i7 8th Gen. Recently my battery health drop to 62% and some setting applied automatically which relate may be to power managment or CPU. The poblem is my laptop start in 20s with SSD, but while connecting to the charger it takes 6s. I want to unlock hidden setting to change something there which relate to Battery usage mode to Perfomance and CPU setting which relate to battery.

@Clint194Lee Bro, I changed the settings from Dell Power Manager and also from the control panel to High Performance or Ultra, but it did not work. I also went to the link you provided above, but it didn't offer anything helpful.

The decline in battery health is due to the age of the battery.  Start budgeting for a replacement -- if this battery is original to the system it's about eight years old and long past its expected lifespan.

It's also normal for a system to take longer to boot on battery than on AC, particularly with an aged, soon to need replacement battery that probably isn't outputting the power the system needs.

  • Go to BIOS → Advanced Power Management and check if “Dell Extended Battery Life” or similar options are enabled. Sometimes, these settings reduce performance to preserve battery.

  • In Windows Power Options, set the plan to High Performance and make sure CPU minimum state is not limited.

  • Update your BIOS and chipset drivers from Dell’s official support page, as older versions sometimes cause power mode conflicts.

  • If you want more control, you can use tools like Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility) to manage CPU performance modes..

  • @Ridermod Bro, in the BIOS, there is no option for Advanced power management or other settings that directly relate to battery performance or Battery usage mode, etc., to increase the CPU's power over battery.

  • Yes, I changed power plans to High or Ultra through the control panel, Windows settings, and also Intel Power Management, but it did not work
  • All my drivers are up to date, as are the BIOS and Firmware.
  • I installed Intel XTU, but I was blocked by my system from changing those settings, and also I tried different software, but they are also blocked
