DELL G15 5510 SSD Slots Support

Question

Hi DELL Community Center, I've ordered a DELL G15 5510 with i5-10200H and Nividia Genforce GTX 1650 and 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD NVMe WDC. I need to order a new SSD 512GB to add it on the 2nd slot. But, I don't know if my laptop has two solid-state device slots and supports M.2 or NVMe, and I can't bring it with me to a fix center to check if it has and supports. Please, if you need more information about the laptop,tell me because I couldn't find my exact version of my laptop in the internet to make sure. And thank you for your time !

You can add a second drive, but you'll need to buy some parts in addition to the SSD. Since you ordered the laptop with a single drive, it won't come with the parts you need to install the second drive such as heat sink, bracket and screws. They can be purchased many places.

Whenever touching components or working inside a computer, wear a grounded wrist strap, also called anti-static wrist strap, ESD wrist strap, or ground bracelet. I know many people do such work without this, but it's a cheap and sensible precaution. Rest the laptop on an anti-static mat or at least a reasonable alternative such as corrugated cardboard.

Dell G15 5510 S torage options supports two M.2 2230/2280 Solid-State Drive (SSD) up to 2TB capacity.

The Crucial System Advisor database says internal SSD can be up to 4TB capacity. Dell Dell G15 (5510) | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com.

So in this case, if I ordered NVMe or M.2 SSD drive with heat sink, bracket and screws in amazon, could my laptop support them ?

The Dell G15 5510 has two solid-state drive slots. The solid-state drive SSD1 slot is located at the bottom left corner of the system board and the solid-state drive SSD2 slot is located at the bottom right corner of the system board. Both slots support M.2 2230 and M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe SSDs.
