Dell HD test failure. Error: 2000:0142, Validation: 84111
The inspiron got stuck at Dell logo. Ran the diagnostics which gave out HD self test failure
Error Code: 2000:0142
Validate Code: 84111

The error means the hard drive is failing or has failed. Since you are looking at replacing the HDD you might want to consider an SSD instead as the performance is a great deal better. Could you please post the model of your system?
