Dell Inspiron 3793 multiple problems

I only bought this laptop in January and I have a number of issues:

1. My C: drive is running out of disk space but I can't see the files causing the space to be used up. When I count up the files (manually) it comes to about 33gb but this drive has a 100gb and it's almost full.

2. I can't extend the volume size to use the remaining 900gb, can only use 10% of the hard drive space.

3. My dell support software disappeared.

4. I can't alter the screen resolution from 1280 x 1024 which isn't even close to optimal.

5. I can't email Dell tech support and on the phone for way to long.

Didn't expect all these issues from a new laptop and have used Dell for years. Any help much appreciated.

What configuration does the system have?  It sounds like it has a 128 G SSD (likely the boot drive) and possibly a second, 1T hard drive.

A 128 G Windows boot drive can fill up astonishingly fast -- the system restore feature is one primary user.  Check its settings:

It also sounds like you've one a reload of Windows on the system, but haven't installed the correct Dell support options and drivers.  Your system either has a 1920X1280 screen or a 1600X900 screen.  The resolution of the screen will show up in setup (F2 at powerup).

Thanks for the reply. I believe this was caused by a windows system file (can't recall the name now). Anyway couldn't fix it using the System file checker (It crashed at 8%) couldn't restore windows or download the media (insufficient disk space). In the end I had to do a complete install of Windows ten on to the unused 900Gb partition and deleted the original install. All in all a painful and time consuming task. Back up and running now although not happy with Dell support which is non existent.

Thanks again.
