Dell inspiron 6400
My DELL inspiron 6400 is just blackout on the monitor,, can't switch on. The power lights are indicating green then red after a few seconds but the monitor can't turn on. How do repair the problem

Given that it's a 15 year old system, it likely needs a repair that will exceed the value of the system -- but to verify what's wrong, hold the D key through powerup. See if the self-test appears on screen -- if it does not, that would be the first part to replace.
If you do get a self-test to run on screen, the mainboard is more likely the faulty part.
