I am in the same boat with, what it seems quite a number of people who have faced the same issue. Dell should really work on the some quality control and recall the laptops. This is a critical situation, not expected from 7000 series.

Everything from what I've seen, seems that Dell Doesn't Care.

I am having the same issue. I just used my laptop, put in down and opened it again and the hinge bulged out. Never been dropped, the hinge just went.

Did your hinge get fixed?

Please read the Dell USA hinge/hinge assembly policy.

Per the Policy:

If the laptop hinge or hinge assembly fails while inside the purchased warranty period;
* If still under warranty, click the "Get help now" icon on the right side of the screen to start a live chat session
* The Get help now agent will first verify the Service Tag purchased warranty and ownership. Then they will troubleshoot with you. They will investigate the issue to verify that the failure was not customer caused damage, abuse, misuse, or accidental damage. At our discretion, Dell may or may not replace the hinge and/or the hinge assembly, or any other plastics, depending on the findings of the investigative process
* If the system is covered under the additional Accidental Damage Service, the hinges may be repaired 1 time per calendar year

However, if the laptop hinge or hinge assembly fails outside of the purchased warranty period, or is a result of customer caused damage, then the customer will be required to pay for the repair and parts using our expired warranty service offering. The customer may also opt to purchase the necessary parts to replace the hinges themselves or have a local technician do the work.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!! I was using my laptop, closed it and opened it and the hinge just came off. I couldn't believe it. Now the second hinge has gone off as well. This has been my worst buy!

I have had the same issue with my Dell 7415. Dell sent me a replacement refurbished 7425- this unit appears to have the same issue. I am waiting Dell support response for next steps. Warranty expires 12/25/2022.

Hi all, I have the same problem. This happened to me twice (in two laptops). I have a small business and purchased a couple of Inspirons for employees to work from home. The first time I doubted, but then the second laptop broke and now I'm questioning the quality of the hardware use by Dell. I'm considering switching brands for my business, any recommendations?  -Dell is not valuing brand loyalty, is asking me to renew my warranty which expired only 1 month ago. I don't agree on paying when they know they are selling a poor quality product.  Appreciate your recommendations, maybe Microsoft Surface?

I have been facing the same problem. The bezel on the screen started coming out and I informed the service support of dell. A blue dot on LCD close to the hinge is also visible. They told me you could use it if its working and today the screen bezel on one side has started coming off and I am not able to open laptop. I am worried if I open it too hard the screen might break. I am now desperately waiting for the service person. I work on that laptop. Dell must look into the quality of the laptop. Poor build quality..

I have a Dell Vostro 5402 that has a broken hinge.  Dell's Pro Support claims that this computer has no past history of a hinge problems and will not cover it's repair.  The Dell people will only replace the whole LCD screen in order to do a hinge repair. The existing LCD screen is in good working condition and Dell will not return it if they do the repair.  Dell has now lost me as a future custome.
