error 2000-0712 when powered on
Hi,
I search on the internet and see many people have them same problem with laptop's fans (2000-0712) when power on with DELL. And I have the same issue many times. I used to sent my ticket to DELL when my laptop still has warranty, but no one response. And now, the laptop is out of warranty. What should I do with this issue? contact Dell and pay for fixing it (someone said the fans must be replaced).

It still happens after a few weeks or a month. Like the fingerprint on my laptop. I have found that Dell laptops about 10 years ago are much better than the current models.

I have done it. And I believe I will do it again after a few weeks or months.

Hello,
That is ePSA error code related to the fan
go to the epsa online tool enter the error code without the 2000- prefix the validation code and your system service servicetag and see what your options are.

Run the Dell diagnostics outside of Windows -- i..e, not Support Assist. To get in, F12 a few times at powerup. Does the error appear there?

My guess would be that on a cold boot the fan is running slowly or starting slowly or even possibly not starting up immediately. That would give the intermittent error you see. When you run diagnostics is it from a cold boot or after the system has been on for a while (a restart)? If you call Dell tech support they will probably run diagnostics and find no problems either but it may be worth a call. Short term keep an eye on it as it will probably become more troublesome if the fan has a problem.
