External audio interface
Hi,
I am struggling to get my Dell Inspiron 3593 to connect to a Mackie Onyx audio interface. I need this for audio production and have been through all the checks with Mackie technical support and Cubase and all the DAWs I could use. The problem is with Dell. Troubleshooters and everything else get me no answers. Is there a particular route with Dell, different to other manufacturers or setting I should disengage for external usb sound cards?

If you posted the question for Inspiron laptop in a Precision fixed workstation, there is a possibility that you did not setup the device properly
Also, Inspiron is a poor choice for audio production. If you prefer Dell brand, try the XPS line.
I'll help to get your thread moved to Inspiron laptop forum. It may gain more input from the community. There is a community resident expert on DAW, @fireberd will give advise when available.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5577 I use in my recording studio, connection same as any brand.
Details are needed such as any error code. Most installs run the installer program and only connect the device when the program tells you. On NON plug and play devices if you connect the device first it will fail. I've seen connection problems with USB Buss power. consider using the USB C port with an adapter as this port may provide more power.

I have inspiron laptop bought in July but cant get audio to work - no help from dell. It has windows 11 on it - which I think is the issue. I cant record myself and music on various apps - zoom, streamyard and youtube. It picks up the music when i speak but as soon as i stop speaking it cuts the music being played in background
